Château de Lacypierre

A true Sarlat-style manor house

Château de Lacypierre

A true Sarlat-style manor house dating from the 15th and 17th centuries, Lacypierre rises from the edge of a forest in the small village of Saint-Crépin-et-Carlucet. Typical of the Perigord Noir region, the Château has ochre-coloured stone walls and a heavy ‘lauzes’ roof, which has been completely restored by its current owners.

This tour will take you on a journey through the history of the region and its ancient stones, and above all through the lives of its most illustrious owners, the ‘Ferrière’ family, knights and vassals of Salignac, as well as those who gave it its name, the ‘Benié de Lacypierre’ family of civil and military officers.

The château can only be visited in summer, with a guide who is none other than the château’s owner! It’s a privilege that makes you very happy!

Lacypierre has been restored with respect and love for its history and that of its current owners, the Ferrière family. What beauty! Every detail has been meticulously thought through, and stepping inside this castle really takes you back in time. The fact that it’s inhabited all year round blows our minds, and we’d love to take the place of its owners for a few days!
