To relax
Our cosy
and refined lounges
At La Barde Montfort, you’ll love the warm, friendly atmosphere of our interior, which combines authenticity and modernity. Our different rooms have been furnished and decorated with taste and refinement, down to the smallest detail, harmoniously blending antique and contemporary furniture and objects from here and abroad. You’ll immediately be immersed in the atmosphere of the interiors of the neighbouring châteaux, and enjoy a unique experience.
As soon as you arrive, you’ll discover our first lounge, where we’ll be welcoming you. This room is at your disposal at any time to enjoy a hot drink (kettle and choice of tea, herbal teas and coffee available free of charge), enjoy a roaring fire on winter evenings or simply relax in one of the very comfortable armchairs.
A second lounge on the mezzanine floor has a beautiful library. A wide selection of books and board games are on offer. Whether you’re playing games, reading or just relaxing, you’ll love the large, cosy sofas, from which you can look out of the window and admire Montfort castle.

For our planet
Our ecological approach
We have put in place a number of measures to protect our planet. We are always on the lookout for solutions and actions to help protect our environment in our own small way.
We use as many environmentally-friendly products as possible for cleaning and maintaining our green spaces. Similarly, the shower gel in your bathroom is Ecolabel certified.
At the office, we pay close attention to our paper consumption. That’s why we use paperless communications with our guests and suppliers…
To reduce our energy consumption
We have installed LED light bulbs in all the rooms in our house. Heating and hot water are provided by a geothermal heat pump system, which consumes less energy. The absence of air-conditioning is an ecological choice, which can be compensated for by the many shutters that can be closed to keep the rooms cool. Similarly, our swimming pool is heated naturally, solely by the sun. Its exposure and the temperatures we now enjoy in our region from April to September mean that the water is pleasant for swimming. Our washing machines and dishwashers run mainly at night on energy-saving programmes. Our washing is mainly line-dried, the tumble dryer being used for emergencies and for your towels only.
To limit our waste and manage it better
We practice selective sorting and composting. To limit our consumption of plastic, we have chosen to place large, fixed-format shower gel dispensers in your bathrooms and to provide you with a glass water bottle to leave on site to replace disposable plastic bottles. In our purchases, wherever possible, we avoid products with unnecessary packaging, favouring recyclable or returnable products…
To limit our water consumption
We’ve installed a water collector in our garden and fitted our taps with flow-limiting aerators. We have also decided to change your towels only every 3 or 4 days.
To reduce our carbon footprint
We favour local shops. Most of the products offered at breakfast and at our table d’hôtes come from a short circuit direct from small local producers. We also like to offer home-made products (jams, cakes, etc.) and make the most of our recent vegetable garden.
