For all ages, for all tastes

Sports and nature

There’s no shortage of sporting activities in the Dordogne Perigord. There’s something for all ages, all interests and all tastes. And many of them can be enjoyed close to our guest house, La Barde Montfort.

Canoeing on the river

Let yourself be overwhelmed by the natural and wild beauty of the Dordogne as you cruise from Carsac to La Roque Gageac, or take in the magnificent views of two of France’s most beautiful villages, built into the rock, on the way from Vitrac to Beynac! We can advise you on the most beautiful walks, starting just 5 minutes from the house.

On the land, hiking

The Périgord-Dordogne region is renowned for its lush green countryside and beautiful landscapes. So what better way to discover them than to take up your pilgrim’s staff and set off!

As hikers ourselves, we can recommend a number of walking routes. Two of them even start from our house.

In the air, in the treetops

Just a few kilometres from Vitrac, there are a number of accrobranche (tree-climbing) courses, for the enjoyment of young and old alike! There are also a number of rock-climbing spots.

Mountain biking or cycling

Whether you’re a sporty type or a little more relaxed, you can go mountain biking or cycling on the many paths and small roads in Périgord-Dordogne. Just a few kilometres from our house, the ‘vois verte’, a former railway line converted into a cycle path, promises some great rides. We can also point you in the right direction on cycle routes.

You can either bring your own bikes or hire them; we’ll give you the contacts of the professionals we work with every year to hire bikes (classic and electric) and equipment.
