Real memory of the Earth, Pech Merle contains a lot of incredible prehistoric works, as the most famous is “les chevaux ponctués”. These ones are very well preserved and representative to all technics and art of cave subjects.

Thanks to the very well preserved works, it’s easier to discern their outline, that makes the visit very interesting. We would like to spend hours and hours to observe them. Some of these drawings evoke a symbolism that it’s sometimes difficult to explain; it gives to the cave a mysterious atmosphere. Maybe will you feel it !
Some of our hosts, passioned with Prehistory, absolutely want to discover this cave. The memorable element is a mark of an adolescent footprint, that you won’t see in another cave.
